KALAMAZOO, Mich. (May 14, 2014) – Rep. Gary Peters is bringing his “Michigan First” listening tour to Kalamazoo.
The Democratic candidate for Senate is touring Western Michigan University’s Business Technology and Research Park.
This is Peters’ second visit to Kalamazoo as a candidate.
Former Michigan Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land is running for the Republican nomination.
In a statement to Fox 17, the Land campaign questioned whether Rep. Peters is ‘listening’ to Michigan voters.
“If Congressman Peters is really listening to Michigan voters, he would advocate for policies that will get the state back to work,” said Heather Swift, Land campaign spokeswoman. “Congressman Peters’ support of Obamacare and opposition to building the Keystone XL Pipeline stand in stark contrast to what Michigan needs in a Senator and he should stop putting the radical liberal agenda of his supporters ahead of Michigan jobs. Terri Lynn Land on the other had has a record of making government work for voters as Secretary of State and wants government to get out of the way of business by reducing regulations and taxes.”
Fox 17 will be speaking with Peters during his visit to Kalamazoo.
