GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A semi truck that crashed near a Grand Rapids intersection knocked out power Tuesday morning to buildings throughout the downtown area.
The crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. near Michigan Street and Fuller Avenue. It appears a Family Dollar semi truck slammed into a utility pole.
We’re told Grand Rapids Police headquarters has lost power, among other buildings downtown, including the Heritage Hill neighborhood. More than 1,000 Consumers Energy customers are without power.
A Consumers Energy crew at the scene tells FOX 17 News that power should be restored within the next two hours.
