GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 13, 2014) — The Grand Rapids Griffins Tuesday announced a three-year television broadcast agreement with Michigan Entertainment Sports.
MES will televise at least 40 Griffins games, including 10 home games, during each of the next three seasons, according to a release.
The games will be shown live in HD.
“This agreement with MES represents the most significant television package by far in Griffins history and the team’s first of any kind since the 2008-09 season,” a release says.
Over the next three years MES hopes to reach all cable subscribers in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. A distribution announcement is planned in the next month.
The televised games will be determined following the release of the AHL schedule in August. The TV broadcasts will be simulcast on Newsradio WOOD 106.9 FM/1300 AM.
Bob Kaser will begin his 15th season as the Griffins’ announcer this fall. Analysts for the telecast will be announced at a later date.
More information about MES will be available soon on their website.
