OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (May 11, 2014) —  Roughly 1,300 people are without power in the Coopersville area Sunday evening, according to a Consumers Energy spokesperson.

Initially, about 4,170 people in the Coopersville and Marne areas lost power at about 6:55 p.m. Sunday.

Consumers Energy contacted FOX 17 at approximately 8:10 p.m. to say that power was back on with all customers, but revised that statement at about 8:50 p.m. after reports of ongoing outages.

The Consumers spokesperson said that power was expected to be back on soon for all remaining customers, but didn’t have an exact timetable.

The cause of the outages is still under investigation.

Most of the outage area was in Ottawa County, but customers in Kent and Muskegon counties lost power as well.
