WAYLAND, Mich. (May 8, 2014) — The ramp connecting 135th Avenue to northbound US-131 in Wayland was closed Thursday after a tanker rolled over.
The crash happened at about 6:27 p.m., according to Allegan County dispatchers. The ramp was shut down for several hours.
The truck was eastbound on 135th Avenue and overturned when the driver tried to turn left to take the ramp to northbound US-131. Investigators believe the load shifted and the truck tipped over because of the truck’s excessive speed. The driver, 47, of Hopkins, was cited.
