BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (April 25, 2014) — A man in Battle Creek was arrested and charged with attempted criminal sexual conduct after police say he held a woman against her will for almost three hours in an attempted sexual assault.

Police responded to Colvin Street after receiving a call that a woman was sexually assaulted at a home on Margaret Street. Police say Johnny Henderson, 29, is accused of the crime and is an acquaintance of the 24-year-old victim.

According to police, the victim said that Henderson held her at the home on Margaret Street, and while there, he tried to forcibly remove her clothes. It was at that time that she escaped and ran to the home on Colvin St.

Police say that before they were called, Henderson showed up to the Colvin St. home and tried to get in by beating the door and windows with a rake. He left before police arrived.

Police found Henderson at the Margaret St. home and arrested him. He was arraigned on charges of attempted criminal sexual conduct and false imprisonment. He was given a $30,000 bond.
