redwingsDETROIT (Apr. 22, 2014) — For a second straight game, the Boston Bruins dominated the Detroit Red Wings and now have reclaimed home-ice advantage.

The Bruins defeated the Red Wings 3-0 in Game 3 of their best-of-seven series and now lead the series 2-1.

Boston scored twice in the first period and then didn’t allow the Detroit Red Wings offense to do much the rest of the night.

Dougie Hamilton scored the night’s first goal at the 9:00 mark of the first period. Hamilton rushed into the Red Wings zone on the power play and beat Jimmy Howard short side above the shoulder.

Jordan Caron made it 2-0 when he buried home a Shawn Thornton rebound. Thornton rushed in on Howard after the Bruins caught the Red Wings in the middle of a line change. Patrice Bergeron added an empty-net goal in the third period to end the scoring.

Game 4 is Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. at Joe Louis Arena.
