WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (April 22, 2014) – Authorities are looking for 3 suspects who robbed a high-end jewelry store in West Bloomfield just hours ago.
WJBK in Detroit reports a 911 call was made by a Tapper’s worker around 5:15 p.m. saying three males entered the store on Orchard Lake Road demanding merchandise.
Two of the suspects are said to have had semi-automatic weapons, and the third a hammer. WJBK reports some workers were ordered to the ground, others physically forced to the floor.
The suspects were able to get their hands on merchandise within a case in the store before making their getaway in what is believed to be a newer-model Chrysler Town and Country which was parked and waiting behind the building.
Witnesses have said multiple watches were taken from a case. The armed robbery comes just hours after Medawar Jewelry Store was robbed in Kent County, leading to a manhunt this afternoon.
