GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Police Department has located the family of a man who was discovered dead Tuesday on Burton Street.
On Tuesday, a person walking home from a shopping trip saw the man’s body next to a building and behind a piece of plywood used to shield the man from the wind. At the time, police said the death was not suspicious, that the man was believed to be 61 and that they were working to get in touch with relatives.
Police told FOX 17 NEWS Thursday afternoon that GRPD had been in contact with the man’s family in the Detroit area.
Investigators are waiting on the results of toxicology tests to determine a cause of death. The test results could take several weeks.
