Search Continues For Missing Kalamazoo Man

Posted

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (April 5, 2014)- The search continues on Saturday for 56-year-old Takashi Sugimori on Asylum Lake in Kalamazoo County.

The Kalamazoo Dive Team and other units are using a sonar system to locate objects in the open water of the lake. But with the amount of ice still on the lake, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety has determined it is unsafe to send dive teams into the water.

Takashi Sugimori was last seen the morning of Wednesday, April 2, at their home. FOX 17 has been told his wife called police after he didn’t return home from going to Asylum Lake to cross-country ski, which he did often. Investigators said Sugimori may have fallen in the lake.

Police say there is still no sign of Sugimori and they do not suspect foul play.
