CANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (April 1, 2014) — A bus driver at Rockford Public Schools has been charged in connection with a fatal February crash.

According to Rockford Superintendent Mike Shibler, Leann Antuma is charged with a misdemeanor moving violation causing death.

Shibler said she has been taken off bus duty and is now working as a para-professional in the district.

Officials say that on Feb. 24, Antuma, 61, turned into the path of 86-year-old Ione Potter’s vehicle on Cannonsburg Road near Dun Robin Drive NE.

Potter was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.  Antuma and the children on board the bus were not injured.
