KENTWOOD, Mich. (March 30, 2014) – A man is at large after stabbing another man inside a townhome with a woman and child present early Sunday morning, according to Kentwood Police. Officers believe the men know each other and said the suspect may have had a firearm.

Police say the stabbing happened just after 6 A.M. Sunday within the 4800 block of Arbor Lane SE inside a Countryside Townhome. Officers said the suspect, an unidentified man whose name is known by police, walked into the townhome and got into a fight with the man inside. Police say both men know the woman who was also present, with a child, at the time of the stabbing.

“We know who that person is. We’ll be putting the case together and certainly we want their side of the story as well; but the case will be brought before the Kent County Prosecutor’s office for any charges in regards to that, but we can’t release any names at this point,” said Captain Richard Roberts with the Kentwood Police Department.

The Grand Rapids Police Department and SWAT Team also assisted on scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Kentwood Police Department at (616) 698-6580.
