OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Several people were transported to a Kalamazoo-area hospitals after a chain-reaction crash on Stadium Drive Thursday evening.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. in the 8600 block Stadium Drive – just west of U.S. 131 – outside of Kalamazoo.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department said, “When units arrived on scene, itwas learned that a car driven by a 56-year-old Mattawan man was traveling westbound, attempting to make a turn into a private drive when it was rear ended by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Paw Paw woman.”
The department went on to say, “The collision caused the first vehicle to cross the center line and collide with a van that was traveling eastbound, driven by a 25-year-old Kalamazoo man. The second collision also caused the first vehicle to overturn onto its roof. The lone driver and occupant of the vehicle had to be extricated from the car by Oshtemo Fire and Rescue.”
Investigators said everyone involved in the crash were taken to area hospitals to be checked out for their injuries.
It is not clear if anyone was cited for the accident as the investigation continues.
