Man Convicted in Cold Case Slayings Along Lakeshore

Brink family brought to tears by verdict after more than 25 years without justice

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – A jury in Ottawa County has convicted a man accused in the cold case killings of his sister and brother-in-law at their Park Township home in 1987.

The jury convicted Ryan Wyngarden on two charges of first degree premeditated murder of Rick and Gail Brink.

The prosecution and defense began delivering their closing arguments Thursday.

The prosecution’s key witness was Wyngarden’s wife, Pamela Wyngarden,who admitted to detectives in 2012 that her husband told her he killed the Brink’s.

Wyngarden will be sentenced Monday, April 21st.
