Scholarship Fund In Ryan Fischer’s Memory

Posted

KENTWOOD, Mich. — The parents of former Grandville High School hockey player Ryan Fischer are creating a scholarship fund in his memory.

The 17-year-old Fischer was found dead March 7 from complications associated with an enlarged heart.

His parents, Scott and Roni Fischer, are establishing the scholarship fund in honor of their son. Supporters are creating special commemorative T-shirts and wrist bands that are being sold for the fund. All proceeds will go to the Ryan Fischer Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship will be awarded each year to an O-K Conference hockey player whose academic achievement, character, community service, determination and integrity best resemble Fischer’s.

Anyone interested in purchasing T-shirts for $10 apiece and/or bracelets for a suggested minimum donation of $1 can either e-mail East Kentwood High School hockey player Alex Birkman, who is overseeing the T-shirt drive, at ryanfischer11@comcast.net or telephone Birkman directly at (616) 389-3212.
