NEW YORK (PIX11) (March 25,2014) – Video emerged Monday night of a stunt that baffled the city back in September when three base jumpers somehow gained access to the top of the World Trade Center Tower, then jumped.
The stunning video was shot on a Go Pro camera mounted onto a helmet of one of the jumpers, and shows them jumping off the roof and landing below and running off — at no point were they stopped by security.
Lawyers for the three jumpers and a lookout had been in contact with police for a month and were required to turn themselves in Monday, a week after another security breach took place at the World Trade Center, this time a 16-year-old who also climbed through a hole in a fence to gain access — going all the way to the roof.
Andrew Rossig, James Brady, Kyle Hartwell and Marco Markovich turned themselves into police and were arraigned in Manhattan Criminal court as of Monday night. Rossig’s attorney, Timothy Parlatore told PIX 11,” the reason these charges are being brought is because this is an embarrassment for the Port Authority… This was a stunt that was carefully planned and carried out safely.”
All four men face a felony count of burglary and two misdemeanors — reckless endangerment and jumping from a structure.
