8-Year-Old Who Survived Boston Marathon Bombing Gets New Leg

BOSTON, Mass. (March 24, 2014) — An 8-year-old who survived the Boston Marathon bombing received a new leg nearly a year after the attack.

Jane Richard lost her left leg in the April 15, 2013 attack.  Her 8-year-old brother Martin was killed.

Her new leg is a “Cheetah” running leg designed for athletics, according to her family.

Three people were killed in the attacks at the Boston Marathon last April when two pressure cooker bombs exploded.  An estimated 264 other people were injured.
