PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (March 23, 2014) — Dogs are known as man’s best friend, and one Army captain visiting West Michigan says his dog is living proof.

Luis Montalvan and his service dog named Tuesday were at the Plainfield Township branch of the Kent District Library. Montalvan discussed his new book, “Until Tuesday,” the story of how his service dog helped save his life.

After two tours overseas, Montalvan returned home with physical wounds, traumatic brain injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

He felt his life spiraling out of control – until he met Tuesday.

“Tuesday has been just an unbelievable blessing in that he really helps to alleviate almost all of the symptoms,” Montalvan said, “physical and psychological symptoms that I have as a result of military service and war.”

You can purchase “Until Tuesday” online and find more about Montalvan’s story.
