HOLLAND, Mich. (March 22, 2014)- The Holland Department of Public Safety released its 2013 annual report on Friday.

In the report, the Holland Department of Public Safety states that police incidents and calls for service dropped from 22,319 in 2012 to 20,853 in 2013. It also states that the WEMET Gang Team has been involved in a long-term on-going investigation that will end in June of 2014. Holland DPS states that this investigation has reduced the gang activity in the City of Holland.

Fire incidents were unchanged from 2012, but Chief of Public Safety Services Matt Messer says that fire personnel have had to take on many more responsibilities in the past year including fire hydrant maintenance, vacant housing inspections and child safety car seat installations.
