GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (March 17, 2014) — After reaching peak coverage of 93 percent in early March, milder weather and sunshine have allowed ice on Lake Michigan to start melting quickly. Pilot Chris Harper, who took us along for a flight over the shoreline in mid-February, sent us some new video taken Sunday of all the open water now showing up on the big lake.
