SARANAC, Mich. – The Ionia County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an investigation after allegations surfaced against a male teacher.
The investigation involving the Saranac High School teacher began last week, according to Ionia County Undersheriff Charlie Noll.
Noll would not provide any specifics about the case during our questioning, saying the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
The teacher’s name is not being released pending any possible charges. Noll said his investigators are waiting on results of a forensics test before proceeding.
Several parents have reached out to FOX 17 regarding the allegations.
FOX 17 News has reached out to the Saranac Public School District; however, it has yet to return our calls.
In November 2013, another Saranac High School teacher was under investigation, accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. The charges were eventually dropped.
