Small Businesses Promoted at Rockford Expo

Posted

ROCKFORD, Mich. (March 15, 2014) — People took advantage of the milder weather to explore the Rockford Community Expo at Rockford High School on Saturday.

The expo is a way for businesses to share their message with the community.

It features cash giveaways and entertainment as well as educational material about individual businesses.

This year the expo also featured “A taste of Rockford,” in which tickets were sold for a dollar to sample food from area eateries.

Also new this year, a merchants marketplace where exhibitors were allowed to sell items in a special area.

“We have 140 booths both inside and out and it`s a great social event. It`s a great networking event and people get to know about all of the local businesses so it`s a win-win for both businesses and people who attend it,” said Jeannie Gregory, Executive Dir. of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce.

The event started 10 years ago after seeing the success of a similar event in Lowell.
