SPRINGFIELD, Mich. (March 15, 2014) – A 24-year-old man is in the Calhoun County Jail right now after being arrested on Friday on attempted murder charges.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called out on March 14th to the The Barberry townhouses on Locust Street in Springfield for an assault complaint. While investigating the deputies recognized the the assailant as being a suspect in another investigation between the Detroit Police Department and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department in regards to an assault with intent to murder.
The 24-year-old man from Battle Creek was immediately arrested.
That man is being charged with domestic assault, violation of a conditional release and assault with intent to murder.
The suspect’s name is being withheld pending his arraignment in a Calhoun County Court.
