KALAMAZOO, Mich. (March 2nd, 2014)- Three people from Illinois are in the Kalamazoo County Jail after being charged with breaking into a Verizon Wireless store in Kalamazoo.
According to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, around 3 a.m. Saturday morning officers responded to an alarm at the Verizon Wireless store in the 330 block of Stadium Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they found the front window of the Verizon store broken out as well as another front window of a nearby store. It appeared to officers that items had been taken as well.
Two hours later, around 5 a.m., Portage Public Safety officers stopped a vehicle occupied by three people on I-94 near Oakland Drive. Officers found ski masks, burglary tools and stolen property from the Stadium Drive businesses.
Two men from Chicago Illinois, ages 22 and 27, and one 19-year-old female from Riverdale Illinois, were arrested on the charge of Breaking and Entering. All three suspects are currently being lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
