COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (March 2nd, 2014)- A man has died after a snowmobile crash Saturday night in Van Buren County.
According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, 45-year-old, Scott Friend from Decatur was driving his snowmobile in the 55,000 block of Baseline Road when he struck a parked GMC Suburban.
The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. Saturday night.
Mr. Friend was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Deputies are continuing to investigate the crash to see if speed, drugs or alcohol were or were not factors in the crash.
It is unknown at this time whether or not Mr. Friend was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
