Another Downtown GR Building to get Upgrades

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb 25, 2014)– We already know downtown Grand Rapids is a hot place for people looking to move to, and soon there will be even more places to live and work.

The city commission approved renovations to a building, located at 820 Monroe Avenue NW.

The plan is to turn it into nearly 90 apartments, more retail and office space. It already has some tenants, but the city assessor said the building needs a lot of upgrades to things like plumbing, electric and it’s facade.

The project is expected to cost close to $22 million.

No time frame was announced as to when it’s expected to be completed, but when it;s all said and done, we can expect there to be 40 more full and part time jobs available.
