Suspect Arrested After Ferris State Student Stabbing

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 23, 2014) — A suspect is in custody after a Ferris State student was stabbed Sunday morning, according to a release from the university.

The stabbing happened off-campus at about 3:18 a.m. at the Oakwood Apartments in the 19000 block of 14 Mile Road, Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Beau Bielecki said.

The suspect allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old during a fight. The victim has since been treated and released by Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital.

The suspect is also a Ferris State student, according to the university.
