Founders KBS Week to Include Special Tap Events, Hotel Packages

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 17, 2014) — There are several beer releases throughout West Michigan over the course of a year that beer fans look forward to — and the annual tapping of Founders KBS is arguably the most highly-anticipated of them all.

KBS is an imperial stout brewed with coffee and chocolates that ages in oak bourbon barrels for a year.  It is at or near the top of many Best Beer lists posted online or in magazines.  For the 2014 launch of one of its flagship beers, the brewing company is doing something different.

“Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) is our most infamous beer,” said Founders in a recent post on its website.  “This year we’ve decided to open up the release so that people coming to Grand Rapids for KBS can enjoy all of Beer City USA.  We’ll still be releasing bottles in our taproom, through a pre-ticketed release that lasts Tuesday, March 18, through, Saturday, March 22.  What’s changing this year is we’re giving fifteen Founders-supporting craft-beer-centric bars and restaurants in the Grand Rapids area each a keg of KBS to tap on a day of their choosing throughout this same week.”

Not only that, but according to Experience Grand Rapids, ten local hotels will be offering KBS-themed packages for those who travel to the city for this highly-anticipated release.  They include t-shirts, glasses, and more.
