Four People Injured After A Domestic Violence Incident

HARTFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Feb. 16th, 2014)-  Four people are recovering Sunday after a domestic violence incident in Hartford Township, early Saturday morning.

According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department, Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 58000 block of Springdale Drive in Hartford Township on a report of a domestic violence incident with shots fired. When deputies and other officers from other jurisdictions arrived on the scene, they witnessed victims fleeing the scene and one of the victims let the officers into the house.

Deputies then took the suspect, a 24-year-old man from the Watervliet area, into custody at gunpoint and held him until they determined there was no weapons involved.

After an investigation, deputies determined that the suspect was intoxicated and enter into the house uninvited and then assaulted the four victims.

The suspect also damaged several items inside the home and a vehicle belonging to one of the victims.

Three females and one male were all assaulted during this incident. They had minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The suspect is currently in the Van Buren County Jail awaiting arraignment on Tuesday. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
