GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The man who police say prompted a lockdown on 4th Street in northwest Grand Rapids yesterday will be arraigned on a felony weapons charge.

Larry Cox, 33, allegedly told his girlfriend that he had barricaded himself in a home with a rifle and would shoot any police who approached.

The area of Stocking and 4th Street was locked down for about two hours following the alleged threat, but Cox was later arrested in the area of Brown and Division.

Cox will be arraigned Friday morning on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.  Police say they recovered a semi-automatic rifle from his home in the 800 block of 4th Street NW.

He is currently in the Kent County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
