KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Public safety officials at Western Michigan University are searching for a male suspect accused of inappropriately touching and forcibly kissing a female student in the Waldo Library.

The suspect allegedly extended his hand for a handshake on the second floor of the library Feb. 3, and then grabbed and assaulted her when she went to return the handshake.

University officials said they learned about the incident Feb. 7, and are now hoping the public can help identify the suspect.

He is described by officials as 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build, a dark complexion and a mustache.  His age was not specified and it was unclear if he is a student.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call WMU Department of Public Safety at 269-387-5555.
