One Tank Trip: Skiing At Caberfae Peaks Resort

CADILLAC, Mich. (Feb. 10, 2014) — The FOX 17 Morning News crew is on a mission to find ways to enjoy the winter weather on one tank of gas. Recently, morning anchors Mike Avery, Sarah Brodhead, and floor director Mike Davis headed up north near Cadillac to Caberfae Peaks Resort.

You can go skiing, snowboarding, and take a variety of private/group lessons at the snow sports school.

All Sundays in February and March are Family Fun Day Sundays. Caberfae Peaks Resort invites all families to spend some time on the slopes and learn to ski & snowboard together. Packages includes lift tickets, ski or snowboard rentals and a beginner group lesson for a family of three.   Additional family members are $15 each. Presentation of a completed coupon at the ticket office is required to obtain the Family Fun Day rate. 

Lift Hours:

  • Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Fridays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Directions:

FROM GRAND RAPIDS, HOLLAND, KALAMAZOO & SOUTH

US 131 North, Exit #176 to M-115/M-55 West,  turn left (northwest) off of the exit ramp and go 3 miles to the stoplight in Cadillac West, where you’ll see a McDonald’s and several gas stations at the intersection.  Turn left (west) at the stoplight onto M-55 and travel 12.5 miles.  Turn right (north) at the Caberfae Peaks’ entrance sign and travel 2.5 miles to resort base area.

FROM SOUTHEAST (DETROIT, FLINT, MIDLAND, BAY CITY)

I-75 North to US 10 West to M-115 West.   Turn left (west) at the stoplight onto M-55 in Cadillac West, where you’ll see a McDonald’s and several gas stations at this light,  and travel 12.5 miles on M-55 West.  Turn right (north) at the Caberfae Peaks’ entrance sign and travel 2.5 miles to resort base area.

FROM MUSKEGON/LUDINGTON AREA

US 31 North to Ludington, US 10 East to M-37 North, M-37 North to M-55 East.  Turn right (east) onto M-55 East and travel 5 miles to the Caberfae Peaks’ entrance sign.  Turn left at entrance sign and travel 2.5 miles to resort base area.
