BARRY COUNTY, Mich (February 8, 2014) – Deputies with the Barry County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate the events leading up to a deadly two vehicle collision in Hope Township Saturday morning.
The crash happened at the intersection of Cedar Creek Road and Cloverdale Road around 11:30 a.m.
The preliminary investigation shows a 2006 Buick Lacrosse that was westbound on Cloverdale Road failed to stop at the intersection and was broadsided by a 1999 Ford pickup truck heading northbound.
The Buick was struck in the driver’s side, and the driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead.
Four people were in the truck at the time of the collision. All transported themselves to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo after suffering minor injuries.
The name of the victim involved hasn’t been released, pending notification of next of kin.
