Victims Identified in Quadruple Fatal House Fire

THREE OAKS, Mich (February 7, 2014) – Investigators with the Michigan State Police have identified the four people killed in an early morning house fire in Three Oaks on Thursday.

77-year-old Orville Kiernan and his 76-year-old wife Leota Kiernan died in the fire, along with the couples’ granddaughter 20-year-old Anna Peek and her boyfriend, 19-year-old Kyle Tyler of New Troy.

The Berrien County Medical Examiner found all four died of smoke inhalation.

Three cats and a dog also died in the fire.

A K-9 unit was called to the scene to assist in finding a cause of the fire, finding no accelerants at the residence.  The cause remains under investigation tonight.
