EAST LANSING, Mich. – Police in East Lansing released surveillance photos Tuesday which they hope will generate leads to bring a suspected killer into custody.
Michigan State University student Dominique Nolff from Middleville died after being shot Friday evening in an apartment at Cedar Village which is adjacent to the MSU campus. Nolff was a 2012 Thornapple-Kellogg High School graduate.
His roommate, Corbin Holwerda of Grand Haven, was also shot. He was treated and released from Sparrow Hospital.
Until now, police have said little about the case including the motive; however, they did tell reporters that the shooting was not a random act.
East Lansing Police said the images show the suspect arriving and leaving the apartment complex Friday evening.
“The suspect is described as a black male; approximately 6’1”-6’3” tall, approximately 170 lbs. and approximately 20-25 years of age. At the time of the fatal shooting, it is believed he was wearing a black hooded North Face winter jacket, tan pants and black shoes. It’s believed he received significant facial injuries during the struggle with the victims,” said police.
The investigation is ongoing. Now anyone with information is asked to call the ELPD Detective Bureau at (517) 319-6884.
