WALKER, Mich. — A refrigerator has been ruled out as the cause of the Jan. 19 fatal kitchen fire in Walker, according to fire inspector Phil McCormack.
Investigators originally thought that the fridge sparked the blaze that killed 66-year-old Robert Lillis Jr.
The appliance was burned beyond recognition, but an electrical engineer brought in to help with the investigation has concluded it was not the cause.
“It’s going to be an undetermined fire,” McCormack said. “We have no idea what went on in that house.”
