KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Eight dogs, six of them puppies, were rescued from a fire Sunday in Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officials say they responded to the 5400 block of S. Deadwood at about 6:37 p.m. The residents of the mobile home were not home, but a Labrador, an American bulldog and six puppies were rescued and are expected to be okay.
According to a release, the fire started after one of the dogs knocked over a lamp. Despite fire and smoke damage to the home, the structural damage was minimal and the residents should be able to return.
