MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. – Accidents were popping up along the lakeshore as West Michgian’s next winter storm moved into the area Friday afternoon.
A viewer from Montague called FOX 17 News to report that many east-west roads in the Montague area were impassible because the high winds were blowing snow. Snow drifts were forming rapidly.
Bob Hilton sent FOX 17 images of crashes on southbound U.S. 31 at the I-96 interchange Friday morning. It was not clear if anybody was hurt.
He said, “31 is very slick from Apple Ave/M-46 to Grand Haven. Traffic is averaging 30MPH with many white outs.”
Our assignment desk just reached out to dispatch centers across West Michigan and reports the most slide-offs are in Kalamazoo County, Muskegon County and Ottawa County.
