Lions Hire Vince Lombardi’s Grandson as Offensive Coordinator

DETROIT — The Detroit Lions have added one of the most famous names in football to its coaching staff.

The Lions have hired Joe Lombardi as their new offensive coordinator. Lombardi is the grandson of legendary head coach Vince Lombardi.

Lombardi has been an assistant coach with the New Orleans Saints since 2007. In 2009, he took over as the Saints quarterbacks coach working with Drew Brees.

The Detroit Lions have confirmed the hire through their own reporter Tim Twentyman on the Lions official website.
