PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Maryann Castorena, the woman arrested for allegedly lying to police in connection with her ex-boyfriend’s murder, is out of jail on bond, according to Ottawa County jail officials.
Jose Hernandez was found dead Jan. 6 from blunt force trauma in the parking lot of his apartment complex in Park Township. He was on the ground covered in snow, his car still running beside him.
Castorena was originally being held on a $1 million bond, but that bond was reduced to $75,000.
Castorena was arrested Jan. 9. Court documents show that she’s accused of lying about “a vehicle that may have been at the scene of a murder, and/or (her) whereabouts when the murder was committed.”
A second suspect, Anthony Alfredo de la Garza, was arrested and arraigned Jan. 17 on obstruction charges. He remains in Ottawa County jail on a $250,000 bond.
