Grand Rapids, MICH–The Grand Rapids Griffins Youth Foundation is sponsoring the Great Skate. 24 straight hours on the ice at Rosa Parks Circle with all proceeds going to their foundation.
The goal is to provide hockey equipment to youth who can not afford it. This allows kids who might not be able to afford to play be able to participate.
Each year the Griffins foundation funds 350 kids to be able to skate and this event raises money but also creates awareness. As of Sunday Morning over 9 thousand dollars had been raised and Skating continues until 10pm Sunday night at Rosa Parks Circle.
