VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. – After Kalamazoo County Central Dispatch received at least 15 different 911 calls, a semi-truck driver was arrested for reckless driving.
The driver was traveling westbound on Interstate 94, beginning in Kalamazoo County and headed into Van Buren County, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses told dispatchers that the man was driving erratically and when sheriff’s deputies spotted the semi-truck, the driver was pulled over.
Officials say that the man admitted to being tired and knew that his ability to drive was affected. He decided not to stop and rest in fear that he might not meet his deadline.
After the investigation, the sheriff deputy who pulled the man over decided to take the driver into custody.
The man was being held at the Van Buren County Jail but has since posted bond. His name has not been released.
