STANDALE, Mich. — Two suspects are in custody, after police say they broke into at least three Walker-area businesses early Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 3:00 a.m., police responded to an alarm at Standale Interiors on Lake Michigan Drive.  They found that the back door had been kicked in.  While they were investigating, another alarm went off just a few buildings up the road.  While responding to that alarm, they observed a suspect run off from one of the businesses.  A car that was parked near the businesses also tried to leave, but police stopped it and took the driver into custody.

Officers set up a perimeter to locate the one who ran off.  A K-9 unit from Grand Rapids Police was brought in to help with the track.  The second suspect was found hiding under a car a few blocks away.  Police describe the two subjects as a man and woman in their late thirties.

In addition to Standale Interiors, the two other businesses that were targeted were a camera/photography business and a salon.

It is not clear how much damage was done, or what may have been stolen.  The owners have been made aware of the situation.
