BATTLE CREEK, Mich — Update: Police say that Lucas Lee Stafford has been found safe. According to police Stafford was found in the area of River Road and Marten Drive in a residence located in Kalamazoo County. No other details have been released at this time.
The Battle Creek Police Department was asking for help from the public in locating Lucas Lee Stafford.
Lucas was last in the Urbandale area on Sunday morning. Police say there are unconfirmed reports that Lucas was in an altercation at an area bar and believed to have left on foot. Lucas has not been seen or heard from since.
Stafford is a white male, that weighs around 160 pounds.
According to his family, Stafford has an eight-month-old daughter. His fiance told FOX 17 News the last time she talked to him was early Sunday morning.
Battle Creek Police said the last place Stafford was spotted was at 12:45am Sunday at Green’s Tavern, 3747 W. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, that is in the Level Park neighborhood just west of Urbandale. After stopping at Green’s Tavern, he walked to a friend’s house and then may have went back to the bar, said police. Stafford doesn’t have a car and his family said it is unlikely for him to go missing like this, police told FOX 17 News.
Police said they will be doing a search and rescue in the area of Fort Custer and Dickman Road where his cell phone is pinging Stafford’s location.
