NILES TOWNSHIP, Mich- A suspect walked into a Walmart in Niles Township and started a fire and smashed a display case Sunday morning.
According to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect walked into the Walmart located on 11th street in Niles Township, when they walked to the clothing department and started a fire. Once the fire was started the suspect then went over to the electronics department, smashed a display case stealing numerous electronics.
The suspect then fled out the front door and left in a newer model, dark colored four-door sedan.
The suspect is described as a white male, thin build, wearing a brown pants, dark colored shirt. The suspect was also wearing a mask.
As of 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Walmart was closed for clean-up.
