Red Wings Sending Ten to the Olympics

DETROIT — The NHL is a month away from its Olympic break, but it won’t be much of a break for the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit is sending 10 players to the Olympics including one player, Tomas Jurco, who’s currently playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The Red Wings final game before the break is Saturday, February 8 at Tampa Bay.

Below is the list of Red Wings heading to Sochi, Russia and which countries they will be representing:

Sweden: Henrik Zetterberg, Daniel Alfredsson, Jonathan Ericsson, Johan Franzen, Jonas Gustavsson, Nik Kronwall

Russia: Pavel Datsyuk

United States: Jimmy Howard

Slovakia: Tomas Tatar, Tomas Jurco
