House Fire Takes Four Hours To Extinguish

HOLLAND, Mich- A home on West 39th Street in Holland sustained $60,000 in damage after a fire overnight.

According to the Holland Department of Public Safety, a fire broke out at 8 West 39th Street around 3 a.m. Sunday morning. When fire crews arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke coming out of the roof of the residence. Fire crews then entered the home, and found the fire in the ceiling and attic area of the home.

The fire was contained shortly after the fire crews arrived on scene, but stayed for four hours afterwards putting out hot spots in the structure.

There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but preliminary reports suggest that the fire is accidental in nature.
