COMSTOCK PARK — A source tells FOX 17 that the Detroit Tigers have settled on a new manager for the West Michigan Whitecaps, their Class-A minor league affiliate.
The source says the Tigers were set to announce the new manager next week after the holiday season, but now may push that announcement back due to the fire at Fifth Third Ballpark.
The Whitecaps will have their third new manager in three seasons after Larry Parrish was promoted to run the Tigers’ Triple-A affiliate, the Toledo Mud Hens.
A massive fire has damaged significant portions of Fifth Third Ballpark, the home of the West Michigan Whitecaps.
