New Gerald R. Ford Statue Unveiled In East Grand Rapids

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich- A new statue of the 38th President of the United States was unveiled Saturday morning in front of the East Grand Rapids Community Center.

The statue of Gerald R. Ford  is a gift from Sue & Marty Allen to the City of East Grand Rapids, President Gerald R. Ford’s hometown. The statue commemorates President Ford’s centennial birthday.

The sculpture is a scale model of the bronze statue of President Ford which stands in the rotunda of the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C. and was dedicated in 2011.

Brent Grill, the creator of the original statue of President Ford in the U.S. Capitol building, built this statue as well. He is from Rockford, Michigan.
