CUTLERVILLE, Mich. — Dee Anne Sanders was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for robbing a bank in Cutlerville in June.
Sanders, 54, was caught on surveillance video committing the crime at the Bank of America on South Division on June 19. She pleaded guilty Aug. 14.
New court documents obtained Thursday claim Sanders’ robbery was “so amateurish and bungled,” that the teller had to make sure she was actually committing the crime.
She stole just over $1,000, and gave her son $300 for rent. He called police after seeing the surveillance images.
Sanders admitted to FBI officials that she suffers from a drug problem and used illegal substances the day of the robbery. According to the U.S. District Court documents, she cooperated fully after being taken into custody and plans on seeking treatment during her time in prison.
